Dear Violet's Nursery Update....
Once again, here in Oklahoma ......it is snowing and I am busy with the mommie-to-be.... finishing her list of nursery to do's!
We put together a shadow box with the sweetest vintage deer figurine.
We also created a wall pocket for dolls. We used an old wall mirror, torn dresser scarf and some vintage looking scrapbook paper. Once finished I surprised SK with a set of dolls she had when she was a baby. See photo of the little cupcake herself with the lamb.
I bought the precious set of lambs when SK was just an infant.
"24 years ago" I remember thinking I have to have these, but the price was way over my budget...$50.00. Handmade and so perfect I placed them in layaway. She loved the little girl lamb so she was chosen to be in the above photo. Who would have thought that now a mommie-to-be herself she would still gravitate towards lambs for her own baby girls nursery. Note the 4 or 5 lambs in the crib now. Needless to say she was speechless when I surprised her with them last night. She couldn't believe her daddy and I had kept them for her all these years.
I found this sweet vintage deer figurine months ago.....could not wait to put together something special for the nursery. Scrabble pieces spell out "Dear Violet" and in the upper right hand corner of the scrapbook paper background it says.....sweet dreams, laughter, sunrises and memories.....
A view from over the changing table......such sweet surroundings await my "Dear Violet".

Snowy days and Nursery Projects
After leaving work on Monday evening....I drove straight to Mommie-to-be's house.
With the impending snow storm of the century and my first granddaughter due any day I decided to stay with her and my son-n-law. (just in case)
She had several projects lined up and the the lamp shade above was just one of many she had on her list.
She knew what she had in mind and where she wanted it....was all to happy to help make that happen.
Check out her blog at : Littlecuppiecakes.blogspot.com for more photos of her darling baby girls nursery.

Happy Nesting...sweet momma!
Happy Nesting....
With my daughter weeks from delivering her first child, her best friend from high school, her mother, my mother and I gave her a baby shower inviting all of our girlfriends.
She is so in the nesting time of her pregnancy, that I choose ..."Happy Nesting" as our theme!
I Will be posting photos for days....
S.K. had so much fun looking at these later...some dates she loved....some not so much.
Brenley, S.K.'s friend since grade school... along with her beautiful daughter Ava. She was thrilled that they both were able to come to the party.
Kaci and Penny friends from Harrah...guessing..?

Happy Nesting Mommie-To-Be!
Randy painted this old dresser for me to match the woodwork around the staircase. I wanted this area in the entry to be very simple and sweet.
Inside these wonderful gifts hold precious memories to be!
Hannah made this darling diaper cake with the oh so cute Scentsy lamb on top.
Haley, sweet friend and hostess!
Our dessert menu had all of S.K.'s favorites.....Sparkling cider, red velvet cupcakes, cake with butter cream icing and a new treat petite strawberry bites.
Wish I had taken a photo of all the friends, momma's, grandmothers and aunts standing behind me also taking photos....
It was a priceless gathering of wonderful women of all ages !!!
There were more babies at the shower.....just couldn't get them all in the photograph. And two of the girlfriends pictured above are due in the next few months. An amazing group of young women...it is so exciting to see how their families are growing.
The burlap sack on the left was one of the favors
we offered our guests when leaving. Each bag had
"Violet" flower seeds in them. A hang tag shown below was attached to each bag.
More to come...

Baby Count Down.....
Just weeks until our first grandchild is to be born.....we are working on nursery and the upcoming baby shower to be held here at our home this weekend!!!
The mommie to be has chosen "grandma chic" as her nursery theme. Yes I said, grandma chic. Baby bedding made from fabrics that look like my great grandmothers aprons and calico fabrics hung in wooden hoops as wall decor. It has been exciting and fun.....but just like Christmas morning she can't get here fast enough.
Mommie-to-be hanging vintage needlepoint bird.
She is using her vintage sewing basket as a hold all for powder, lotion and diapers!
